Preparing for a cheerleading tryout? The following tips and collection of cheers are sure to help you out in your quest. Have a look…
If you thought that your in-shape body and some sharp moves will take you through a cheerleading tryout, think again! You might think of yourself as the most good-looking and flexible cheerleader around, but at the tryouts, you will be competing amongst the best. So what is it about you that will make you stand apart from the rest? Why would the judges notice you amongst all the other performers?
The first thing that most judges look for when cheerleaders perform is enthusiasm. So, the moment you walk through the door and face them, through your body language, convey to them that you are very outgoing, friendly, and extremely confident of yourself. During the trial, when you are performing the chants, do not just carry them on mechanically. Instead, let your personality shine through the act. Also, show the judges that you are a very versatile performer. Perform all kinds of moves and take various positions. Showcase the judges that you can be put in any position in the cheerleading squad. If you keep these tips in mind, your probability of being a success at the tryouts will increase manifold. Of course, a lot depends on the selection of the cheers as well. So scroll down for some of the most interesting cheers and chants, and take your pick.
