Cheering and chanting are an integral part of a volleyball game. Here are some catchy and jazzy volleyball chants for you to use and cheer your team on.
Sometimes, in a battle, when someone is losing the battle or losing the morale, the people involved need one moment of inspiration. But that applies not just to a conventional battle but to all the things in life which we have to fight for. Participating in a sport and representing a side, volleyball, for instance, is being a part of a ‘sporting’ battle. What you need in times of despair is some morale boosting, which is provided by cheerleaders.
Cheering your team on can do wonders for its fortunes on the court. Even a little support and push can transform the performance of the team on a given day. Here are some cheers to help you in your quest.
Volleyball Cheers and Chants
Wooooosh (slide stepping in one direction) what was that?
Woooooosh (slide stepping on the floor in the opposite direction) you hear that?
Never worry, never fear
That’s just (server’s name)’s ball flying past your ear!
O-V-E-R, Over the net (clap twice)
Serve it, serve it
Go (girl’s name that’s serving!
Okay this one’s for boosting a team’s morale, check it out!
“3,6,9 our serves are fine
bump it to me, set it to me one more time
get low, get low, put yo knee pads on the flow.
(everyone yells) YOU KNOW!”
“Uno, dos, uno dos tres
This next serve’s gonna be an ACE!”
If you want to tell the another team that it is absolutely not in the hunt to win and it is your team which is going to win, then this is a perfect one.
“Hey Hey
You get out of our way
Today is the day
We will put you away!”
“OHHHHHH YEAH!
We’re Bad,
We’ve got the game,
We can’t be had,
We’re the best,
Our Teams too cool,
We’ve got the Stuff,
To rock your School!
Go ________ GO!”
When the situation is bad for your team at time out, cheerleaders can cheer their team by this one –
“We are the Spartans (or your team name)
The mighty, mighty Spartans (or your team name)
We got the beat yeah
And it goes like this
Clap your hands together twice
Clap the hands of the cheerleaders next to you twice, or if you are on the end clap your side
Clap your hands in your lap twice
Stomp twice”
“We’re number one
Can’t be number 2
And we’re going to beat
The whoopse out of you!”
Constant innovation as far as cheers are concerned is needed by a cheerleading team. However, there are a few things which need to be kept in mind.
- Ideally, there should not be any cheering at a time in game when a player is hurt.
- Cheering for every point is not really a good idea. Spacing out the cheers is the key.
- If your team loses or misses a point, it is not apt to cheer.
- In case either or both teams are in a discussion with the officials, cheering is absolutely not allowed
Just remember these things, and cheer your team in the best possible way.
